LIFE GUARDS - AVIATOR SPORTS - HOSPITALITY DEPARTMENT

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

  • Monitor pool with constant attention to all swimmers.
  • Respond promptly and appropriately when rescue or first aid is necessary.
  • Know and enforce all pool rules in a respectful manner.
  • Test water and record results at scheduled times. Notify supervisor if chlorine or pH is too high or too low, verbally and in writing.
  • Keep pool area clean.
  • Follow lifeguard maintenance schedule for pool/deck cleanings.
  • Report to work in appropriate dress and ready to assume responsibilities a minimum of 5 minutes early.
  • Ability to interact with staff in a friendly and respectful manner.
  • Engage in behavior conducive to team building with other staff, such as open communication,encouragement, support and tolerance for each other.
  • Offer basic swim instruction to beginning swimmers.

POSITON REQUIREMENTS:

 Experience: At least 1 year of work related experience.

 Education: High School Senior or College Student.

  Knowledge/Certifications: Life Guard Certification through American Red Cross or equivalent.

   CPR first aid certification for both Adult and Child.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Physical requirements: Able to conduct recreational activities with youth equipment operation. To be able to participate in physical activities such as swimming, field sports, and physical team building activities.

Season Summer Day Camp Nurse - Aviator Sports and Events Center (Brooklyn, NY)

Responsibility: Coordinate all health care functions and oversee execution of health care for Aviator’s Summer Day Camp. This includes providing First Aid, individual health care, maintaining health records, administering and managing medications, collaborating with external health care providers and communicating with parents/guardians.

  • During emergencies or crises, lead and coordinate the camp’s response from a healthcare perspective in order to provide for the health and safety of campers and staff.
  • Review camper and staff Health History Forms.  Collect any medications to be administered to staff and campers and check for observable evidence of illness, injury, or communicable disease and verify and update the Health History Forms.  Maintain and follow state medical and treatment standards for Health Care.
  • Manage and handle the collection, storage and packaging of all medications for campers.   Administer prescribed medication and practices in order to support the recovery and/or maintenance of a camper’s health.
  •  Report all injuries to Aviator’s Security Department.   Coordinate with Aviator’s Camp Director in making arrangements with external healthcare providers and specify how communication about health issues will occur.
  • Communicate and coordinate, as appropriate, with parents/guardians regarding a camper’s or staff member’s health care issues.

 Commitment: To make at least a  7 - 8 week work commitment between June 27, 2017 and Aug. 25th, 2017

Aviator Sports and Recreation, a premier sports and recreation complex which includes a 175,000 sq. ft indoor facility featuring state-of-the-art ice rinks, a 15,000 sq. ft gymnastics center and rock-climbing wall, wood floor basketball courts, nine party rooms, along with a retail shop and a food concession is currently looking for energetic, motivated, friendly and hard working individuals to join our growing team. 

We are currently seeking part-time Gymnastics Instructors and Team Coaches to join our growing team. The Aviator Gymnastics Center is over 15,000 sq. ft. and features the latest models of women’s and men’s competitive and training apparatus, pre-school age specific equipment, a large in-ground pit, in-ground trampoline, in-ground tumble track, a competitive length power tumbling strip, a full-size floor exercise system.

All qualified individuals should have excellent skills and strong experience in one or more of the following areas:

*Artistic Gymnastics

*Power Tumbling

*Trampoline

*Sports Acrobatics

*Mommy and Me and Pre-school Gymnastics

We are offering part-time positions with day, evening and weekend hours available.  The Aviator Gymnastics Center offers the most comprehensive gymnastics programming in the NYC area.
